🛡️ Trust & Safety (Buyer Focus)

Is my payment secure on the platform?

Yes. Payment security is our top priority. All payments are processed through our secure, encrypted system using Stripe, which adheres to the highest industry standards for data protection. Funds are held by TradeConnect in an escrow capacity and are only released to the seller/service provider after the order is marked as completed by the buyer or automatically after 48 hours following delivery confirmation.

What is the process for disputes or refunds?

If an item or service is significantly not as described, or if the item never arrived, you are protected by our Buyer Protection Guarantee.

  1. Initiate Dispute: Log into your dashboard and initiate a dispute via the Resolution Center within 7 days of the delivery date.
  2. Evidence Review: Our Trust & Safety team will review evidence (photos, tracking logs, communication history) from both the buyer and seller.
  3. Resolution: We aim to issue a final decision and resolution (full refund, partial refund, or denial) within 72 hours of receiving all necessary evidence.

How are sellers and service providers verified?

We maintain a high standard of trust through comprehensive verification:

  • Identity Verification: All professional sellers must submit valid government-issued ID and pass a background check.
  • Business Checks: We verify business license checks and ensure banking information matches the registered business name.
  • Quality Standards: Sellers are subject to ongoing performance reviews and must maintain a minimum 4-star rating to remain active on the platform.

💵 Fees & Payouts (Seller Focus)

What are the platform fees for sellers?

Our fee structure is designed to be competitive while covering operational costs and marketing outreach. We charge a standard commission of 10% on the final transaction value (including shipping costs). This single fee covers secure payment processing, platform maintenance, fraud protection, and inclusion in our promotional marketing efforts.

When do I receive my payment/payout?

Payouts are processed weekly every Monday via Direct Bank Transfer (ACH).

  • Holding Period: There is a standard holding period of 3 days after the buyer marks the order as complete (or 48 hours after auto-completion) to account for potential buyer disputes or chargebacks.
  • Minimum Threshold: Payouts will only be processed if your account balance exceeds the minimum threshold of $20 USD.

Do I pay taxes on my earnings?

TradeConnect is required to report earnings to [Relevant Tax Authority, e.g., the IRS/CRA] if you meet the minimum transaction threshold (e.g., $600 USD per year).
